The Yazidi Ciera Lazarus. - ppt download

The Yazidi Ciera Lazarus. - ppt download: BASIC INFORMATION The Yazidi are an ethnoreligious group that live primarily in the Nineveh Province, which is in Iraq. The Yazidi have only been recognized as a distinct ethnic group since 2007, but have been around much longer than that. The religion associated with the Yazidi is called Yazidism, and seems to have its roots in Zoroastrianism (a monotheistic Iranian religion) as well as ancient Mesopotamian religions. Yazidism is a monotheistic religion. Currently, the Yazidi have been targeted by the Islamic State of Iraq since August in an attempt to “purify” Iraq.

My views on Nigeria's President Buhari’s 60th Independence Anniversary Celebration Broadcast

My views on President Buhari’s 60th Independence Anniversary Celebration Broadcast:

I am not a Politician nor the son of a Politician. I have objectively criticized PDP while they were in power and now is the turn of APC to be objectively criticized especially when they promised to be better. I listened to the address by the President of Nigeria on October 1, 2020 and here is my response:
1. The speech is not much different from the normal rhetoric and jamboree that Nigerians are already accustomed to over the years.
2. The speech lacked any focus and vision for Nigeria. One would have expected that the President would tell us what he intends to do in at least the next one year apart from the imaginary self-deluding rhetoric of bringing 100 Million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years’ time
3. The President should have been sincere when referring to the challenges in our democracy to admit that he was part of the problem by truncating our democracy in 1983 and should have been humble and human enough to say “sorry”. This would have earned him great respect as a patriot and believer in the Nigerian project. But his pride and lack of integrity would not allow him accept the obvious.
4. The President’s normal blame game of previous administrations was still brought to bare as he condemned his critics whom he blamed for nearly destroying Nigeria which he claims he is rebuilding. This is far from the truth because Nigeria is worse now by all indices compared to past administrations since 1999! You cannot claim to be doing better than your predecessors in office when you cannot even maintain what you met. The economy is worse now, the security situation has further deteriorated and corruption is the order of the day in public and private offices.
5. It is a show of shame that our President never sees anything wrong in himself or his administration over the years but like the proverbial Lizard keeps praising himself at every opportunity. The President needs to come down from his high horse and self-righteous deceit to acknowledge that Nigeria at present is not working and we need to hit the reset button.
6. It is sad that the president did not say anything about the fundamentals of national development like Education considering that ASUU has been on strike for several months and Nigerian universities are likely to remain closed for a whole year or more. You don't blame him considering that his children did not attend Nigerian Universities. A leader that doesn't value the education of his citizens is a dangerous leader that would keep breeding a nation of terrorists and illiterates.
7. It is sad that the President thinks if Saudi Arabia sales her petrol at a higher price Nigeria cannot afford to do less. An administration that encourages us to stop comparing Nigeria with other countries is now championing such comparisons for selfish reasons. It is sad that a President who has visited Saudi Arabia a number of times can make such comparisons. With all the continual increases in the Pump price of Petrol does Nigeria compare to Saudi Arabia in development and infrastructure? Is our economy as solid as Saudi Arabia? Does he know that Saudi Arabia is not the poverty capital of the world like Nigeria? Does he know systems are fantastically working well in Saudi Arabia and the government provides social welfare for her citizens? Does he know the minimum wage in Saudi Arabia is more than ten times that of Nigeria? I think Buhari went too far and those comparisons would do more harm than good because the circumstances and conditions are not the same. He should just have compared us only with Niger Republic, his darling country for whom he is taking a loan of $1.9 billion to construct a railway line or Chad that has helped him to keep Boko Haram in check when he failed to do so.
8. It is not true that every nation on earth is currently in economic crisis because of COVID-19 as the President asserts like Nigeria. Many nations like China and South Korea have quickly moved forward and are experiencing economic growths. The President should rather blame his lack of understanding of how the economy works and his extremely myopic economic policies and lack of planning for the woes of Nigeria
9. The president encouraged unity in the country but yet is the “Divider-In-Chief” of the country with his bigotry and nepotism. It is common knowledge that all Service Chiefs (who have overstayed their welcome) come from a section of the country and so are more than 70% of his political appointees over the years. In fact whenever a new appointment is to be made by Mr President you can predict with almost certainty which section of the country will receive the appointment. The President does not give a damn about it! This brazen display of arrogant disregard for Federal Character in appointment is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.
10. While it is true that Nigerians in the Diaspora have always excelled in all fields but has the President asked himself why they excel more outside Nigeria than in Nigeria? It is poor leadership just like he is currently offering.
11. The president failed to say anything tangible about security which is one of the cardinal objectives of his administration. When the president came into office, he inherited Boko haram crisis but he later magnified the security situation and increased it by allowing banditry, kidnapping, herdsmen attack and various other violent vices in the country. It is common knowledge that now Boko haram and various militia are not only killing Generals but even sitting Governors are not safe in their states. The Governor of Borno State has been attacked twice in one month with massive loss of lives of our security forces who laid down their lives to protect the Governor and other citizens. Yet the President who is supposed to be a former General has no winning plan against insurgency and violent crimes in the country. If the more than 30,000 Policemen deployed to monitor the Edo State Elections had been sincerely deployed to comb the nooks and crannies of Sambisa forest until every Boko haram element is flushed out, Boko haram would have been history like Maitatsine by now! But the President appears to have other priorities.
12. It is clear that Buhari has completely lost direction and hardly knows what is happening in the country he is supposed to be leading and the only hope for Nigeria now is to keep hoping we can have a visionary leader come 2023. I fear that Buhari would go down in history as the worst President our country ever produced.
13. While it is worth thanking God for preserving Nigeria for 60 years, Nigerians should expect nothing tangible from an administration that is totally insensitive to the plights of her citizens. I still believe Nigeria can be great if we have a visionary Leader! God bless Nigeria.
Happy 60th Independence Anniversary Nigeria!
